This Week in Signatures

One email a week for people who run the certificates and verify the signatures: what broke, what got patched, what moved in the post-quantum transition — and one tool worth knowing. Short enough to read between two builds.

This Week in Signatures

One email a week. Certificate incidents, signature-related CVEs, post-quantum news, and one tool worth knowing. Unsubscribe in one click.

Double opt-in: nothing is sent until you click the link in the confirmation email. Your address is stored for this newsletter only and never shared.

What is in every issue

Certificate incidents

Misissuance, mass revocations, root program decisions and CA distrust events — what happened, whether your certificates are affected, and by when you have to act.

Signature-related CVEs

Vulnerabilities in the code that verifies things: X.509 parsers, JWT libraries, ECDSA implementations, TLS stacks. Affected versions and the fixed release, not just a score.

Post-quantum news

Standards, browser and CDN rollouts, adoption numbers, and the deadlines that turn PQC migration from a research topic into a ticket in your backlog.

One tool worth knowing

A single tool — ours or somebody else's — that solves a real signature or certificate problem, with the exact case it is good for.

Every claim carries a link to the primary source — a CA/Browser Forum ballot, a NIST publication, a vendor advisory. If a week has no real news, the issue says so instead of padding.

Archive

The first issue has not gone out yet. Past issues will be listed here — number, date, subject line and a one-line summary — so you can read what you would have received before you decide to subscribe.

What we do with your address

  • Nothing is sent until you click the link in the confirmation email — an address typed by somebody else never receives a second message.
  • The address is stored to send this newsletter, and for nothing else. It is never sold, shared or used for other mail.
  • Every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing deletes the row — there is no “are you sure?” step and no re-engagement email afterwards.
